British Institute of Provocative Therapy
Certification Training 2006 As of this year the British institute of Provocative Therapy is committed to providing a continuing programme of training. The initial step for anyone interested in Provocative Therapy is to attend a weekend in Foundation Skills. Training for certification in clinical Provocative Therapy is offered at post-graduate level only. Practitioners with under-graduate training and qualifications in the following areas will be considered for training: medical doctors, psychiatric social workers, nurse practitioners, community psychiatric nurses (CPNs) clinical psychologists, psychotherapists, occupational therapists and art psychotherapists. Each professional must be registered with their respective professional associations eg. for the UK: GMC, BACP, UKCP, AHPR, HPC etc.) Practitioners with other accreditations, including those from abroad, may apply for special dispensation to train in Provocative Therapy. Each application will be considered on individual merit with a minimum of 5 years post-training clinical experience. The Programme of Provocative Therapy Training for 2006 will begin with a 2 day interactive workshop on Foundation Skills on the weekend of 18th and 19th March. Foundation Skills Certification is available for those who have successfully completed a total of six days training, though each seminar can be attended alone for those seeking new skills and not seeking certification.
